The film has won numerous awards, including 'Best Animation', 'Best Animated Film' (Gold Medal), 'Best Sound' (Gold Medal), 'Best Original Score' (Silver Medal), and 'Best Cartoon'.

When Scott was struggled with character design for Sabine, he glanced at an album of his wife Maria as a young girl; problem solved. Maria is also the incredible mother of their amazing sons, Antonio and Charlie.
